THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF MCLEAN is dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.  Since its founding in 1958, members have addressed the diverse needs of the community, building an impressive record of accomplishment.  They are also dedicated to improving their skills, expanding their rights and applying their abilities and special sensitivities to society's problems.  We promote education, preserve natural resources, encourage healthy lifestyles, work on behalf of the elderly and people with disabilities, advocate for issues of concern to women, children and families, and support participation in the arts.  As a member of The Woman's Club of McLean, you can be proud to belong to a group of women volunteers with a historic legacy and continuing tradition of community service, make new friends, learn new skills, and have fun doing it.

The Woman's Club of McLean is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

The next meeting of the Woman's Club of McLean will be on Tuesday, April 1 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church - an"old fashioned tea party".  Be sure to wear your prettiest hat and white gloves and bring a tea cup (if you so choose).  Hopefully, this won't turn into an "April Fools Joke" - NO SNOW.    The speaker will be Cecilia Glembocki of the Virginia Egg Association who will give us some insight and stories about the Washington, DC White House Egg Hunt.  Also on the program will be music by the "Family Fun Musical Group".  This is a first for them and should not be missed. 


April 17 - The Woman's Club Innternational Committee is holding an Italian Food and Culture event at the Olive Garden at 12:00 noon.  Call Kamala for reservations. 

April 21 - Board Meeting to be held at the American Legion Hall at 1:00 p.m. 

May 1 - Time to pay dues.

May 6 - Luncheon and General Meeting to be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m.  RESERVATION REQUIRED.  We will again enjoy the four young artist, two from Lemon Road Middle School and two from Cooper Middle School, who will received the Club's Music Awards this year.  We will also present trophies to the Elementary School Safety Young People and a check to each school for their Safety Award Programs.  This is a meeting not to be missed.

May 15 - 18 - Northern District GFWC Virginia Tour to Charleston, South Carolina - $559 per person (Double Occupancy).  Reservations required.  Contact Barbara Kiker (703/451-5922) as soon as possible for more information.  Barbara's Trips are a lot of fun and extremely reasonable.

May 17 - McLean Day - We will have a Woman's Cub booth at the event and still need a few more people to start the day.  Call Joan and let her  know you plan to help.

 What is happening at the Woman's Club of McLean --

o  Five new members have been installed so far this year. 

o  Dozens of cookies provided by members of the Club for the MPA Elementary School Art Show.

o  30 pounds of greeting card covers mailed to St. Jude's Ranch for Children for their art projects.

o  China, crystal and silver donated to Trinity University in Washington, DC for use at special programs.

o  Financial support provided for two young ladies, one from McLean High School and one from Langley High School, selected for the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership program.
